Jackie's Professional Experience
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), practicing in Montclair, NJ and New York, I specialize in helping women with anxiety, relationship issues, depression, pre/postpartum support, maternal mental health, family conflict, and life cycle changes. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies, guidance, and an insight oriented approach, I help people work on the 'here and now' issues and in some cases, will look at past experiences, like family history, to see if it is having any impact on current thoughts and feelings.
In order for people to take the courageous step towards making changes in their life, they need to feel a sense of safety, validation, and support, which are all elements I work hard to provide to my clients. Colleagues, clients and supervisors have described me as warm and relatable, helping people feel at ease and comfortable in therapy. Over the past 16 years, I have had the honor of helping many women throughout their journey and am grateful to have the opportunity to continue supporting women in various stages of their life.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I have been providing psychotherapy in schools, clinics, and private practice settings for a wide range of individuals. I received my master's degree from Columbia University in 2008 and then participated in a rigorous post-graduate training program at the Ackerman Institute for Couples and Families. I have been trained in various therapeutic approaches such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Parent and Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Relational Therapy for Couples and Families, Postpartum Support International trained (PSI).
