Jackie is Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), who trained at Columbia University and participated in a rigorous post-graduate training program at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She has been trained in various therapeutic approaches such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): an evidenced-based therapeutic approach that helps people understand how their thoughts effect their feelings and behaviors, Parent and Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), a conjoint evidenced-based therapy for children (ages 2-7) who have emotional and behavioral disorders, Relational Therapy for Couples and Families, Parent-Training for Disruptive Behavior Disorders and Trauma Focused CBT.
Jackie integrates various therapeutic approaches and skills into therapy sessions based on the presenting problems the individual and/or family brings in. Her clinical training has allowed her to treat individuals who are struggling with various presenting problems, such as, relationship issues, trauma, behavioral problems, depression, anxiety and family conflict. She believes the relationship between the therapist and client is an important part of the therapy. Clients, colleagues, and supervisors describe her as warm and relatable helping people feel at ease in session. Jackie has been working in the mental health and social services field for over 10 years. During this time, she has worked with children, adults, families and couples in various settings such as mental health clinics, hospitals, homeless shelters, and schools.
